How do you find out about emergencies?
When an emergency occurs, the City of Decatur use multiple channels to relay information to the community. These range from the low-tech (e.g. signs posted on city buildings) to the latest social media apps. Here are the major ways the ways the city communicates during an emergency:
- DecaturGa.com (the city’s website)
- TheDecaturMinute.com (the city’s blog)
- Facebook and Twitter
- CodeRed (emergency alerting system)
- Nation of Neighbors
Do you use any or all of the above? Have one outlet you like best? City staff are interested in learning more about how residents and business owners prefer to receive communication. Please click on Post below to have your say.
