Over the past few months, we have gathered a lot of input on your ideas to Reimagine Plainfield and we wanted to take a moment to say, Thank You!
We also wanted to give you a brief update on next steps. We anticipate that as the restrictions are lifted regarding COVID-19 that the Committee to Reimagine Plainfield will be able to get together in-person and review your thoughts and input. We anticipate continuing to reach out to you throughout this process to seek more of your input at a later date!

Keep Talking To Us! – Reimagine Plainfield!
Thank you for your continued responses to our survey and to our follow-up questions. For those of you that stop by to take a “peek” and read others comments, don’t hesitate to offer your support of their statement and/or to share your own. We certainly want a variety of opinions to help guide the development of future plans.
Below is another summary statement of what we heard and we want to know a little more…as one commenter said, “let’s think BIG”!
What We Heard:
"There is a lot of potential along the Plainfield Corridor. With so much development occurring around us, if there could be some aesthetic improvements, it seems like people would come here and commercial development would occur naturally. The Corridor feels like just a “strip” in any city in the country and lacks a sense of place.
Now, We Want to Know:
When we think about those aesthetic improvements, what is our end vision? Is it to just improve how it looks or to create a sense of “place” along the Corridor. If we create a sense of “place” on the Corridor, would it be focused on one area, where would it be located and why, would it be Downtown Plainfield? What does that sense of space look like? Or, is Plainfield “just” different and operates as a busy commercial area and that should be the focus?

Thank Your For Continuing to Engage With the Township!
Based upon our last question, we are continuing to get great feedback and here is one statement that we consistently hear you saying:
"The Plainfield Corridor needs something to tie it all together. It is an unpleasant street with an unplanned haphazard appearance. It would be nice to make it look more inviting, coordinated, and fresh.
Now, we want to know…
What would your priorities be to improve the appearance of the Plainfield Corridor? (add lighting, add benches, redevelop building sites, paint, bury power lines, install banners, improve existing storefronts, add trees and landscaping, better signage, other).
How would you rank these and other items? What's first on your list to address?
