Utilities and infrastructure, public safety, education and community services are the foundation to quality of life. They contribute to attracting business and play a vital role in social development. The Comprehensive Plan will establish a vision based on the values and feedback of the community.
This survey is divided into sections. Public utilities and infrastructure (Part 1) provided by the City include domestic water service, sewer collection, sewage treatment. Other utilities and infrastructure provided by independently operated companies include power, natural gas, garbage and recycling service, and communications.
Public safety (Part 2) considers the City's role and responsibility to maintain the public safety and welfare for Sandpoint residents including police and fire services.
Education and community services (Part 3) available in Sandpoint enhance residents' well-being. A wide array of services are needed including educational, social, and health.
The Comprehensive Plan will consider existing conditions, trends, goals, objectives, and policies for public utilities and infrastructure, public safety, and community services and will establish a future vision based on the values and feedback of the community.
