I think making it more obvious that there is no left turning from Bridge street is a great idea to decreasing congestion in downtown area. I agree that the light at Church street causes a lot of backup in both directions and should be rethought. Turning left onto Euclid from the highway should be prohibited as well since it also creates unnecessary congestion at that point. Not sure what I think about making the cedar street bridge area like a plaza type area. Where would the extra parking go? I already don't like going downtown because of the horrible street parking situation which is worse since it was changed from one way streets in the downtown. A car pulling out of the angled parking can't see oncoming traffic and can't be seen by oncoming traffic. In addition traffic has to completely stop, in some instances both directions, for cars pulling out of those parking spots.

At one time I heard that a round-about was being considered for First and Superior. That solution was not mentioned. Also, for a short term solution, no mention was made of putting in a crosswalk, which is greatly needed. By placing a barrier, does that mean that residents would not be able to turn left on First to reach their residence?

I am pleased with the short-term solution for Euclid Ave & US-2/Pine St. I feel that it will slow some of the traffic in the school area and help with folks not using our parking lot as a turn-around.
