What are your views on the CASA Compact?
At the Tri-Cities Council meeting on Wednesday, March 6, at 7pm, the Lafayette City Council, the Moraga Town Council, and the Orinda City Council heard an update on the CASA Compact, the Committee to House the Bay Area, from Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC). The CASA Compact offers recommendations to address the Bay Area’s housing shortage and many or all of these recommendations could find their way into bills that will be introduced by the Legislature in 2019 and beyond. The Compact’s recommendations will influence the way cities develop in the future and therefore it’s important to understand the impacts on Lamorinda. Here is the CASA Compact's January 2019 report and here is the City of Lafayette's Staff Report concerning the CASA Compact. You can watch the MTC presentation here (The presentation begins at about 01:06:00, and statements and questions by the Mayors and Councilmembers begins about 01:44:00. Public comment is at about 03:09:00):
