Please provide your feedback on the pilot closure of Fourth Place Southeast between Southeast Evans Lane and Southeast Evans Street.
Last year, the City and the school district met multiple times with your neighbors and started addressing various concerns in your neighborhood regarding parking, trash, speeding, noise and more near the school campus. Part of the City’s approach was to explore a temporary, pilot closure of Fourth Place Southeast to through-traffic between Southeast Evans Lane and Southeast Evans Street. The pilot closure started Oct. 8, 2018 and is still in effect.
According to our traffic data, the pilot closure significantly reduced cut-through traffic going to and from the school. Overall, the morning peak hour saw a 34 percent reduction, while the afternoon peak hour saw a 40 percent reduction.
We are now collecting feedback from you and your neighbors on the pilot closure, and whether a permanent closure should be considered. Thank you!
