Elk Grove is not safe for cycling. In order to make the city more bicycle friendly, safety for cyclists is paramount. The straight and wide boulevards that dissect the city unfortunately encourages vehicular speeding. I feel safest cycling on sidewalks, residential streets and recreational trails.
