We want your comments on a proposed flood protection project for the right (or west) bank of the White River
King County is proposing to design and construct a flood protection project to substantially reduce the potential for the White River to flood the City of Pacific.
The need to do so became evident in January 2009, when the White River overtopped its banks, flooding homes, businesses and a park along the western edge of the city. King County is preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to determine the best way to provide flood protection to Pacific and to improve the environmental conditions along this portion of the White River.
Read more about the project by visiting the Pacific Right Bank Flood Protection webpage.
We are seeking comments from all interested parties about what needs to be included for evaluation and consideration in the EIS.
- Are there public amenities you’d like to see included in the project?
- Are there community or environmental issues related to this project that you’d like addressed?
- What would you like to see considered in an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for a Pacific Right Bank Flood Protection Project?
- Do you have concerns about construction impacts?
Your ideas, your concerns and other information collected through this public scoping process will be used to develop up to four alternative design proposals. The potential impacts of these alternatives, including a “no action” alternative, will be evaluated in the EIS.
All comments related to this EIS scoping process must be submitted between Monday, March 12, and Friday, April 13, 2018. Please provide your input!
