Metro is proposing two options to simplify fares—and we’d like to hear what you think by May 5th.
Thank you for participating!

We’d like to thank the thousands of people who gave us input about our fares, through this survey and in other ways. Most told us they want simpler fares with no zones or peak-hour charges. Based on this input, King County Executive Constantine proposed a flat fare of $2.75 for regular-fare adults, which the King County Council adopted unanimously in November 2017.
Starting in July 2018, regular-fare adult passengers will pay $2.75 at all times and for all destinations in Metro’s system. For about two-thirds of our riders, this will mean paying either the same as or 50 cents less than they do now. No changes are being made to youth, senior, ORCA LIFT, or Access fares or fares for riders with disabilities.
People also told us about other priorities, which will shape our work around fares in 2018. We’ll reach out to the public throughout the year as we focus on three things: making fares more affordable for those who need it most, speeding up boarding, and increasing safety for bus drivers and passengers.
