Would you support a community garden here? Yes, a community garden would be a great addition to this park. It provides an opportunity for neighbors to get to know each other while addressing some of the food insecurity issues in this area, including limited access to affordable healthy food options.
Would you support the removal of the volleyball court? Yes, since it is not getting much use. It should be re-purposed with a facility that is more relevant to the needs of the community. A soccer court would be a good replacement for the volleyball court.

Please select which concept you prefer from the options below. Concept Plan B
Comments: I like concept B, as it's more in keeping with the mixed use cases likely to occur with the expansion of the Capital Crescent Trail. To that end, the addition of some water fountains / hydration stations would support passing walkers, runners, cyclists, etc.

I'd like to know more about the design/features of the Skate Spot (area E).

Please select which concept you prefer from the options below. Concept Plan B
Comments: Although I have selected Concept B, it is imperative that Montgomery Parks redesign how the reclaimed bridge components are used. In order to honor the heritage that these components represent, they must be experienced in a way similar to their original use: as a bridge, not as a retaining wall, or a disconnected "feature" in the landscape. As designed now, their original use will not be understood by park users, and the important story they have to tell about the community this park says it is trying to honor will be lost. Memory is created by how one experiences and moves through a space, not just by signage. Perhaps the bridge could be used to transition between two areas, in particular from the "heritage terrace" to another space like the bike path, or amphitheater. Key to achieving the desired goal is to place the components parallel to each other with the opportunity for users to walk between and/or over them. Incorporating a bioretention area to one or both sides could emphasize the "bridge" like experience. Please use these bridge components intentionally. They currently appear to be placed as an afterthought.

Please select which concept you prefer from the options below. Concept Plan B
Comments: Please consider a small fenced space for dogs. There are many in the community and it could complement either option. Option B provides additional recreational opportunities not currently available and the skating option would be popular with the kids. Thanks

Please select which concept you prefer from the options below. Concept Plan B
Comments: Concept B flows better, it's curvier and less angular than Concept A. I like the concentration of small tables on the eastern side, under the tree canopy. And I love the skate element, which will make the park a destination for teens.
