Montgomery Parks is seeking public input on the feasibility and concept planning for a dog park at Norwood Local Park.
The June 2019 dog park feasibility study served as a guide for the dog park site selection and design requirements. The proposed dog park will provide a dedicated, fenced area for dog exercise with separated small and large dog areas and may include amenities such as a shade structure, seating, and water source for dogs and maintenance. The concept plan proposes an 18,000 square foot dog park in the middle of Norwood Park as shown above. A public meeting on November 10, 2020 provided an initial opportunity for Montgomery Parks to gather community input about the project. Please give us additional feedback and comments on the following pages.
A virtual public meeting was held on November 10, 2020. View a video recording of the meeting.
Staff is now collecting community input through this Open Town Hall Survey. The deadline has been extended to January 14, 2021.
During the winter of 2021 staff will present the feedback to Parks leadership and determine the viability of a dog park at Norwood. Once that process is complete, staff will report back to community members regarding next steps.
More information on the project and timeline is available on the project webpage.
