How would you improve the Sligo Kennebec playground?
Introduction:
Montgomery Parks will be renovating the aging playground at Sligo Creek Stream Valley Park at Kennebec Avenue. The playground is located at Sligo Creek Parkway, Kennebec Avenue, and Houston Avenue in Takoma Park.
The scope of the project includes:
- New play equipment for children ages 2-5 and 5-12
- Surfacing
- Seating for parents and caregrivers
- Accessibily improvements
- Stormwater management and drainage improvements
- Relocated parking lot and trail
Project Timeline:
A virtual community meeting was held November 17, 2020. View a video recording of the meeting.
Staff are now collecting initial community input through this Open Town Hall Survey and will be developing design concepts to present to the public for review in Spring 2021.
