What do you think of the proposed amendment to Provo City Code related to annexation?
Provo City residents are encouraged to provide input on new development within the city. We value our residents' opinions and ideas. Your input assists staff in ensuring that all viewpoints are heard and to make them aware of concerns as well as what residents see as a match to the City's vision.
Development Services Department
The Development Services Department requests an amendment to Provo City Code Chapter 15.15 (Annexation) relating to the annexation of islands, peninsulas, irregular boundaries, etc. Requirements related to annexations were updated in the Utah State Code. The language of this amendment mirrors the language in State Code.
This item does not require a neighborhood meeting since it is a citywide application. The application has been under review by various Provo City departments and will be heard at the May 25 Planning Commission hearing. Because it is an ordinance text amendment, it will also need to be heard by the Provo City Council (currently scheduled for June 7, 2022).
