It seems like a waste of time and money. The problem of diversity and inclusion is much bigger than Berkeley. There are larger social and economic forces that the city has no control over. We can’t solve these problems at city level. We are making the city worse and less livable by trying to do ineffective things. The city is turning into a magnet for homelessness, no matter how much we build/spend there are thousands more in SF and around who will pour in. All we can do is build new housing wherever possible and economically feasible. In focusing on the most vulnerable for so long, our city has become unlivable for middle income families. Streets are unsafe, dirty and unsanitary. Local businesses are hurting due to encampments, high taxes and rents. Allow more economically viable housing to be built. Work with other cities, state and federal governments to solve underlying problem.
