The City of Oakley is proud to announce the upcoming creation of a 55-acre park located ½-mile north of Cypress Road on Sellers Avenue and we are asking the public to help name this exciting new amenity!

One of the first ways the public can help shape the park is by making suggestions for a name. Should it be based on the history of the site? Its location as an access point to the Delta?

Dear ECCFPD Community Members,

The East Contra Costa Fire Protection District (ECCFPD) is a rural funded fire district that works hard to protect approximately 249 square miles and over 114,000 residents in East Contra Costa County.

We are in the process of developing a strategic plan to help plan the future of the District. In support of this effort, we would like to invite you to help us clarify our priorities for the next five years by completing a short community survey. The input from this survey will help us refine our mission, vision and values, as well as articulate our most important goals for the future. Since it is you we serve, your feedback is invaluable and helps us target areas for improvement as we strive to provide the highest quality services to our communities.

The survey is accessible at: https://www.opentownhall.com/6411 Please complete the survey by July 8, 2018.

We urge you to give us honest, open feedback. Individual responses to this survey are confidential and are sent directly to Management Partners, a consultant who is support us through this process. The results will be consolidated and summarized in a report.

For more information on ECCFPD, the Strategic planning process, or Town Hall meetings visit the following link:  https://eccfpd.specialdistrict.org/strategic-planning-town-hall-meetings

It’s time to develop the City of Oakley’s 2018-2020 Strategic Plan and you can help! This important document dictates the direction and priorities of the City for the following two-year period.

We are asking every resident to take the time to visit Engage in Oakley, the City’s online engagement platform and participate in two prompts. One prompt will ask you to rank the ten Areas of Focus. Relay the importance each has to you in this two minute exercise. For example is Public Safety more or less important to you than Planned Quality Growth? How would you rate Business and Job Growth relative to the aforementioned?

Next, read the goals for each Area of Focus and offer feedback. Recommendations from the public offered two years ago led to the City Council adopting language changes. You may have an idea we haven’t yet thought of.

Thank you for caring and for participating!!

After 18 years since Oakley’s incorporation, plans and work are underway to provide Phase 1 of the new Recreation Center for the community. The site is located at 1250 O’Hara Ave, also known as the Moura property (south of O’Hara Park Middle School).
