Each year the City of San Mateo receives funds from the Federal Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG). The program provides funding to support needed projects and services to San Mateo’s most vulnerable neighborhoods. CDBG project and program areas include, but are not limited to, public service grants to non-profit service agencies, affordable housing, neighborhood parks, and public infrastructure improvements.
Part of the process for receiving CDBG funds is to provide HUD with a Consolidated Plan, in which the City will prioritize the types of programs and projects it will fund. The City is currently updating that plan for coming years. The Community Needs Survey gives you the opportunity to tell the City which needs are most important to you and your neighborhood.
