What do you think of the Woo proposed Rezoning and General Plan Amendment?
Avondale residents are encouraged to provide input on new development within the City. We value our residents’ opinions and ideas and your input assists staff in ensuring that new development is consistent with our City’s vision. Please tell us what you think! DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT
Zoning Applications PL-18-0261 &PL-18-0262 Woo: Zoning requests by Mr. David Kenyon with Kenyon Architects, LLC, for an approximately 2.4-acre property located at the southwest corner of El Mirage and Buckeye roads which include a General Plan Amendment changing the land use designation from Medium Density Residential (MDR) to Local Commercial on the land use map. And, Rezoning from Single-Family Residential (R1-6) to Community Commercial (C-2) zoning. The Minor General Plan Amendment application has been filed in conjunction with the Rezoning request and will be processed concurrently.
The City has completed a first review of the proposed development and provided the applicant with comments. The applicant will then revise and resubmit to the City for a second review. A neighborhood meeting, to give all interested property owners a chance to learn more about the Woo proposals and ask questions of the applicant and City staff, will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at 6:00 PM in the Avondale Civic Center Library, 11350 W. Civic Center Drive., Avondale, AZ 85323. All are welcome to attend to learn more! Once the proposal has been revised to address the City’s review comments, the two zoning requests will be scheduled for Planning Commission and City Council public hearings. All property owners within 1,000 feet of the subject site will be notified of these meetings via mailing. Additionally, all meetings will be advertised with a sign on the property and legal advertisements in the Southwest Valley Republic. This page will be updated with dates for those meetings when they are determined.
