What significant environmental concerns do you have regarding a specific project option? For each environmental concern, select the project options to which this concern relates.
Pedestrian and bike access - OPTION 1, OPTION 2, OPTION 3, OPTION 4
What other significant environmental issues would you like to see addressed in the Environmental Impact Report (EIR)?
How would Sunnyvale discourage traffic from Moffet Park using the overcrossing for destinations in Cupertino. I wouldn't want any of the options to primarily benefit out of city residents, to the detriment of Sunnyvale residents.

Pedestrian and bike access
Please explain the nature of your concern(s) regarding pedestrian and bike access.
I am concerned about the separation between vehicular lanes and bike lanes. With 2 bikers, there is potential for collisions. In these scenarios, a curb-level separation will be inadequate in ensuring biker's safety.
Can you suggest other reasonable alternatives that would also achieve the project goals and avoid these impacts?
Install higher barriers between the vehicular and bike lanes
What mitigation measures would minimize these impacts?
No vehicular lanes on the overcrossing.
Which section would you like to skip to?
Traffic volumes
Please explain the nature of your concern(s) regarding traffic volumes.
I am not convinced that this overcrossing is needed to begin with. Moffett Park is situated close to the intersection of 101 and 237 and Mathilda Avenue. It has VTA access as well. Investing in encouraging use of mass transit should be the primary focus.
Why can't access to these freeways and mass transit be improved locally? Perhaps direct access overpass to the freeways would be a better option.
Can you suggest other reasonable alternatives that would also achieve the project goals and avoid these impacts?
No response.
What mitigation measures would minimize these impacts?
No response.

Traffic-related safety concerns
Please explain the nature of your concern(s) regarding traffic-related safety.
The overcrossing will mean higher traffic volumes on Mary, Bernardo and Hollenbeck. Despite the lane reduction on Mary, the increased traffic will result longer waits at traffic lights. Motorists will become impatient and will potentially put others at risk.
Can you suggest other reasonable alternatives that would also achieve the project goals and avoid these impacts?
If any option with vehicular lanes is selected/approved, then Mary should be converted to 2 lanes between El Camino and Central and speed limit reduced to 25 mph. This will encourage traffic on to Central and away from Sunnyvale city streets.
What mitigation measures would minimize these impacts?
No response.
Which section would you like to skip to?
Air quality impacts
Please explain the nature of your concern(s) regarding air quality impacts.
Its a simple equation. More cars == more pollution == lower air quality
Can you suggest other reasonable alternatives that would also achieve the project goals and avoid these impacts?
Allow only EV and Plug-in hybrid vehicles on the overcrossing if any option with vehicular lanes is selected. Or if it is a High Occupancy Vehicle.
What mitigation measures would minimize these impacts?
No response.

Which section of questions would you like to skip to?
Transit ridership
Please explain the nature of your concern(s) regarding transit ridership.
I am concerned that use of mass transit will not be incentivized enough. As a result ridership will remain low on VTA light rail and buses.
Can you suggest other reasonable alternatives that would also achieve the project goals and avoid these impacts?
Penalize tenants of Moffett Park if ridership falls below targeted levels. Another option would be to make parking expensive and reduce parking time limits to 4 hrs.
What mitigation measures would minimize these impacts?
No response.
