What significant environmental concerns do you have regarding a specific project option? For each environmental concern, select the project options to which this concern relates.
Pedestrian and bike access - OPTION 1, OPTION 2, OPTION 3, OPTION 5
What other significant environmental issues would you like to see addressed in the Environmental Impact Report (EIR)?
No response.
Which section would you like to skip to?
Pedestrian and bike access
Please explain the nature of your concern(s) regarding pedestrian and bike access.
I am concerned that the sidewalks are too close to heavy traffic. If there was more of a setback, there would be less exposure to traffic in Option 1
Can you suggest other reasonable alternatives that would also achieve the project goals and avoid these impacts?
Increase trees or other barriers separating sidewalks from road. Make path more pedestrian friendly
What mitigation measures would minimize these impacts?
No response.
Which section would you like to skip to?
Traffic volumes
Please explain the nature of your concern(s) regarding traffic volumes.
Option one places a significant amount of traffic into Mary which then continues on to El Camino and beyond. If we are going to emphasize a pedestrian and bike friendly route, throwing thousands of cars on the same street in option1 is not helping pedestrians feel welcome on the road.
Can you suggest other reasonable alternatives that would also achieve the project goals and avoid these impacts?
Don't do option 1
What mitigation measures would minimize these impacts?
No response.
Which section would you like to skip to?
Transit ridership
Please explain the nature of your concern(s) regarding transit ridership.
I am concerned that options 1 and 2 (along with others) do not address how we will comprehensively introduce better transit options. At a city level, we should be providing connections to transit hubs that encourage Caltrain and VTA usage
Can you suggest other reasonable alternatives that would also achieve the project goals and avoid these impacts?
PrioritiZe bus transit in all proposals ensuring they have right of way, or dedicated lanes at all times. This would allow easier access to downtown transit hubs and make this a transit/pedestrian/bike preferred route. Let this be the alternative as opposed to simply facilitating more cars.
What mitigation measures would minimize these impacts?
Prioritizing Transit in ALL options would mitigate friction to using transit options. Give route planners an easy route to use when directing future shuttles and buses. Encourage building owners to run shuttles down this route.
