What significant environmental concerns do you have regarding a specific project option? For each environmental concern, select the project options to which this concern relates.
Traffic volumes - OPTION 1
Traffic-related safety concerns - OPTION 1
What other significant environmental issues would you like to see addressed in the Environmental Impact Report (EIR)?
There should be at most one car lane each direction, not two otherwise Mary traffic will be too heavy and Mary does not have 3 lanes like Mathilda. I think that providing a straight shot down Mary from Moffett will cause much larger backups at Central Expy and the Caltrain crossing. Any proposal should also include improvements to those intersection such as an underpass or overpass.

Which section would you like to skip to?
Traffic volumes
Please explain the nature of your concern(s) regarding traffic volumes.
This will increase traffic on Mary, which is for the most part a 2 lane road except between Maude and Evelyn. Also there is no outlet south of Fremont for traffic to get to 280 like Mathilda provides.
Traffic will be backed up at Central and at the crazy Caltrain crossing at Evelyn. There will be too much traffic for these short stretches of road to hold and gridlock will ensue.
Can you suggest other reasonable alternatives that would also achieve the project goals and avoid these impacts?
Take Mary over or under both Caltrain and Central.
What mitigation measures would minimize these impacts?
Reduce Mary overcrossing of 101/237 to bus and non-motorized transport only.

Traffic-related safety concerns
Please explain the nature of your concern(s) regarding traffic-related safety.
Train-car collisions at surface level crossing Mary & Caltrain.
Excessive traffic on Mary will cause pedestrian hazard all the way from Evelyn to Homestead Rd.
Can you suggest other reasonable alternatives that would also achieve the project goals and avoid these impacts?
Provide a smooth transition from Mary to 85 and 280 at Homestead. Widen Mary all the way to the transition..
What mitigation measures would minimize these impacts?
No response.
Which section would you like to skip to?
Noise impacts
Please explain the nature of your concern(s) regarding noise impacts.
If truck traffic will be using Mary rather than Mathilda, there will be much more noise in the residential portions of Mary.
Can you suggest other reasonable alternatives that would also achieve the project goals and avoid these impacts?
No response.
What mitigation measures would minimize these impacts?
Forbid large trucks from using Mary between Central and Homestead.
Which section of questions would you like to skip to?
Other concerns / general comments
Please explain the nature of your other concern(s).
Generally worried about using Mary as overflow for Mathilda.
Can you suggest other reasonable alternatives that would also achieve the project goals and avoid these impacts?
Widen Mathilda, turn into an expressway. Improve Mathilda to freeway intersections to avoid backups due to freeway congestion, more overpasses/underpasses and less traffic lights.
What mitigation measures would minimize these impacts?
No response.
