What do you think about the proposed actions to develop walking and biking infrastructure and provide for a functional alternative transportation system in Sunnyvale?
For those of you who have already participated in the Land Use and Transportation Element (LUTE) discussions, thank you! For those of you who have not, welcome to the discussion. We appreciate your involvement and input as the City finalizes the LUTE.
This new topic focuses on citywide walking, biking, and transit improvements proposed in the Draft LUTE. We previously asked community members to provide feedback on what amenities they want included in the mixed used areas proposed in the LUTE. The most commonly selected desire was for more walking and biking pathways in these areas.
The draft LUTE includes several overarching objectives aimed at creating a more transit-, bike- and walking-friendly Sunnyvale. Before the LUTE is finalized, we want to get more input on walking and biking in Sunnyvale.
We heard from several of you about other concerns and issues that you feel the City should focus on, including water availability, education, open space, and general concerns about growth and development. Many of these issues are addressed in the LUTE, and we will continue to consider your concerns and priorities as part of this and other future planning decisions. We continue to welcome your input on related issues.
