The City Charter provides that compensation for the Mayor and City Council shall be reviewed every other year in even numbered years. Recommended adjustments would then become effective the following January for the next two-year period. As part of this review, the City Council appoints a Council Compensation Committee to look at relevant information and provide recommendations regarding compensation for the Mayor and City Council as well as some Advisory Body positions. On August 20, 2019, the City Council made appointments to the 2020 Council Compensation Committee, which is currently in the review process and would like to solicit public input on this topic.
The Committee's objective is to build an effective City Council that is inclusive of all candidates that wish to participate and would like to receive input to help determine if compensation is a factor in the decision to run for the City Council. Please provide your input by answering the questions below.
