On November 13, 2018, the Sausalito City Council will consider a six-month pilot program to offer mobile shower service in Sausalito on a limited basis. The service would be provided using a mobile shower trailer staffed by Marin Mobile Care, a nonprofit operation affiliated with the Downtown Streets Team. Marin Mobile Care currently offers mobile showers on a regular schedule in San Rafael and Novato and is actively seeking to add new locations in Marin County.

The goal of the mobile shower service in Sausalito would be to provide a basic need for the homeless and waterfront communities, while also providing an outreach opportunity to connect people in need with resources like counseling, medical care, and employment and housing opportunities.

The City Council has directed City staff to seek the community's input on mobile showers. Should the City of Sausalito offer a mobile shower service? If yes, where and when? You can make your voice heard by taking an online survey on our Open City Hall website.
