Please share any additional ideas or comments about how Humboldt County's local governments can reduce GHG emissions in the region.
Please do not support the Terra Gen wind farm project unless the surrounding communities demonstrate overwhelming support. Please focus your precious energy on using the resources we already have and transforming those systems into whatever we need. Any infrastructure you create that does not already exist will have unknown impacts on future generations.

Start to design another route for 101 so that Eureka won't be cut off due to sea level rise. Start to move those residents up and out of the new high water marks, and make sure no one builds in the new Tsunami zone...this will save so much time and money, making it easier for Humboldt County to then pay attention to the issues in this survey.

Create micro grids. Community owned power generation. No restrictions on the size of solar systems. These community owned micro grids could sell back their excess power to local community choose aggregate. (RCEA)

Rooftop solar should be a priority. The impacts already exist and the roof space is sitting idle ready to use. Also micro-hydro in both rain catchment from rooftops on all buildings over 2 stories and upper headwater streams with amphibian safe intakes above fish-bearing stretches. Wind power should be considered as an option with micro-generators on north sides of the rooftop solar installations with bird-friendly alternatives to traditional impeller style, but NOT THE PROPOSED TERRAGEN PROJECT. Wrong scale in the wrong location!

Discourage residential development in forest lands and other natural areas that require increased auto and service infrastructure and increase the potential for fire, pollution, invasive species, and decline in health of native species and habitats
Do not permit industrial developments in the above areas for the same reasons.
Do not permit large scale corporate "clean energy" industries which damage local ecosystems and promise mitigations which have not been proven over the long term for efficacy and enforcement success

Replace onshore wind power generation with widespread public and private grid-tied solar PV mini grids with V2G capability, promote public and private EVs charged from local solar, electrify transit and heating.
RCEA needs funding to attend national solar conferences out of state, and needs to DUMP onshore wind power, as too impactful and therefore too divisive.
Locking bike cages are more secure than racks.

Consider more aggressive measures for reducing emissions, even if this means short-term negative effects on the local economy. E.g. putting curbs on some industries and activities that detract from, or do not contribute to, net social good, apart from the jobs they create.

Please submit your comments on the Garberville Complete Streets Project as a whole.
I'm excited about the prospect of Garberville main street being more visitor friendly and safer to traverse for both the disabled and the able bodied. I also think it's long past time that this town had some actual planning put into it.

Please submit your comments on the Gateway/Welcome Plaza.
I love the idea of the welcome /gateway Plaza but I'm not seeing the parking corresponding to these areas. Are visitors expected to utilize the regular parking and walk back to these?

Please submit your comments on A - Parallel Parking Section.
Okay. Looks nice but have you watched any of our citizens parallel park? Because... It seems more challenging for some than you would think.

Please submit your comments on B - Angled Parking Section
I'm concerned about truck deliveries/center parking issues. Also the center parking is going to enhance the crossing outside of designated cross walks. I'm cool with that. But is everyone else?

Please submit your comments on the Enhanced Intersection with Transition Plaza.
I love these. I just really do. This is starting to look like a town I'd want to stroll through.

Please submit your comments on the Mid-Block Crosswalk section.
Nice addition.

Please submit your comments on the Enhanced Intersection.
And again. I like these enhanced intersections.

Please submit your comments on the Garberville Complete Streets Project as a whole.
I love it, more parking, inviting and informative to tourists, enhanced safety for pedestrians.

Please submit your comments on the Gateway/Welcome Plaza.
By putting short term parking, we discourage people from inhabiting parked vehicles and provide parking turnover for local businesses.
The welcome signs beautify the appearance of town and encourage travelers to stop in our town.

Please submit your comments on A - Parallel Parking Section.
I’m a little concerned that parallel parking may reduce the amount of cars fit in that section of town however I think the median parking will make up for that and the landscaping will be more beneficial than the loss of those parking spaces.

Please submit your comments on B - Angled Parking Section
I love the angled parking now, and hope the median parking will provide much needed additional spaces.

Please submit your comments on the Enhanced Intersection with Transition Plaza.
Making the town more bike friendly encourages bicyclists, stands will hopefully reduce bike theft (I ride and have a hard time finding places to securely park and lock my bike)

Please submit your comments on the Mid-Block Crosswalk section.
Much needed, hopefully encouraging cross walk usage and maximizing pedestrian safety.

Please submit your comments on the Enhanced Intersection.
Great.
