Select which logo you feel best captures the excitement and imagination of the City’s first phase of development in the downtown entitled: “Downtown Fremont – On the Rise.”
On October 2, 2012, the City Council adopted the Downtown Community Plan. This Plan provides the blueprint for the transformation of the current auto-oriented downtown area into an urban core with shopping, retail, entertainment, housing, and nightlife all within walking distance and close to public transportation.
The Downtown is a 110 acre area bounded by Fremont Boulevard, Mowry Avenue, Paseo Padre Parkway, and Walnut Avenue. Implementation efforts have begun with the completion of a 300 unit housing project, the opening of Whole Foods market, an award of a $5.8 million One Bay Area Grant to improve transportation connections, initiation of Civic Center master plans, and development of arts and cultural event programming.
Polls will close May 16 and the logo with the most votes will be used in print, digital, and banner format to symbolize the excitement and imagination of our up and coming Downtown.
