Tell us where you think the Genius statue should stand in Vallejo!
In 1967, the City unveiled the Marina Vista Art Collection in the Downtown (in the area which is now the first block of Georgia Street).
Part of that collection included a reproduction of the renowned sculpture “Genius” by the artist Carl Milles (1875-1955) – a bronze 5-foot figure mounted on top of a 7-foot granite base.
However, with the re-opening of Georgia Street in the late 1990s, the sculpture was placed into storage on Mare Island. In 2017, the City Council directed the bronze figure be restored and re-installed.
But where shall it stand?
Take this survey and tell us where in Vallejo you’d like to see this bronze sculpture be installed – anywhere in the City is a possibility!
