How would you budget and spend $100 taxpayer dollars?
As part of West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio’s commitment to her ongoing “Open Access” campaign, she is turning the purse strings over to you – sort of!
As discussion begins over next year’s budget, Mayor Muoio wants to know what is important to you. What do you think are the most important items to fund in next year’s budget.
Mayor Muoio believes the new budget should accomplish four goals:
- Set next year's city property tax rate at or even below this year's rate.
- Replenishing money pulled from reserves during the 2013-2014 budget process.
- Fund needed and long-delayed capital improvement projects in the city.
- Provide for the first city employee wage increase since 2007.
Here you will find a list of some of the many services the city provides. If you had $100, how would you divide it up? You can spend it all in one place. You can divide it up. What Mayor Muoio wants to know is how you would prioritize your $100.
This is your chance to show what's most important to you, and it’s Mayor Muoio’s chance to make sure the real city budget reflects what is most important to residents.
